What’s In Isley’s 40-Point Inspection?

Isley’s Home Service certified heat pump technicians will come to your house and perform a 40-point inspection that includes inspecting and fixing as necessary:

  • Refrigerant levels (a low level could indicate a leak)
  • Indoor blowers, all motors, belts, burners and pilots
  • Bearings, including lubrication if necessary
  • Duct seals and panels
  • Relays and pressure controls
  • Voltage and amperage to all components
  • Run and test the whole system

Heater Maintenance Checklist

Dirty air filters are one of the most common causes of problems with heating and cooling systems. They contribute to reduced air flow and increased utility bills because your units have to work harder to warm or cool your rooms. Use this checklist to keep your furnace or heat pump running all winter:

  • Schedule air filter changes for once a month
  • Schedule a tune-up in September or early October
  • Program your thermostat for winter settings
  • Clean debris from your outside unit

How Often Should You Clean Your Air Ducts?

There are some companies that will encourage you to have your air ducts cleaned several times a year, but that’s not really necessary unless you’ve got evidence of problems in your duct work. Isley’s performs air duct cleaning and recommends it if you’ve recently done renovations in your home, if you’ve had mold problems, or if you notice a lot of dust and debris building up around your vents.

If you are concerned about the quality of the air in your home or business, ask your Isley’s home services rep about options for air purification, which can reduce environmental factors that trigger allergies, asthma and other respiratory symptoms.
